AT&T Treo - Can I switch providers?

I bought my Treo 600 through AT&T, but have had considerable problems with them since. I want to terminate my business with them and switch providers. Does anyone know if it's possible to do so without having to get a new phone? Thanks!

Usually the answer is no because At&t has lock on their phones, which means you cant switch provider, but search for unlock phone on google.

I just switched a Sprint SE phone to Verizon. It is not easy, but it is possible. You need to switch to a company that uses GSM technology (ATT&T, Cingular and T-Mobile are the big ones in USA and I believe most of Europe). Sprint and Verizon use CDMA so you would not be able to switch to them.

As Netbraker has pointed out, an unlocked GSM phone can switch carriers simply by changing the SIM card. If Google doesn't help swing over the howardforums.com.
