Re: Is the Treo 600 a good unit?
rwmutton, welcome to Brighthand!
z22 2006 User, I'd listen to QF if I were you, and see if a 650 is available to your budget, maybe in ebay or similar. IIRC, your main needs are school and your budget (& authority level) is student-wise. Maybe you could get a good 650 in good shape, or even a new 680 in a bargain, cause as the latter just left the current Palm catalog, it may be found at lower prices.
The Treo 600 was one of the few smartphones that arrived here (MX) by the zillions, and I was once told that most are already decommissioned for buggy and poor signal. Say, for a smartphone, it was pretty dumb. Such model was forbiddingly pricy, and all of its users here got it saddling up for a business-class plan. So I bet they arrived to lots of Palm newbies who knew zip about backups and tweaks and VFS. & they must've lost data by the truckloads.
The 650's are still very common here, and IIRC they were sold for both GSM and CDMA. Even as refurbished, they are quite coveted.Last edited by hal; 02-05-2009 at 09:48 PM.

Ermmm... hal? z22's original question was posted more than six months ago. He has since purchased a LifeDrive. I guess rwmutton didn't notice the date of the thread when he posted.
Welcome to Brighthand, rwmutton!

I never thought or implied you were trolling, rwmutton. I simply thought you had not noticed the date... that's a common mistake we all make, and it's not considered trolling at all.
I'm glad you're happy in our forum. It's one of the best forums on the web, so feel at home and enjoy your stay!raspabalsa

Re: Is the Treo 600 a good unit?
Huh, I better check the date of the OP first, right?
Thanks, Raspy!!!
