what launcher is best for the 600
any ideas what launchers are best for the treo 600 as have tried 2 so zlauncher and launcher X leaning towards launcher X but are there any with better functions than those two have one feature I would like is the ability to delete mass files at once neither of the above have them. I would like to know before I buy which one is best

mass delete of files can be done using filez you do not need a dedicated launcher for that otherwise i was going to suggest you launcherx since i believe zlauncher might be a bit too heavy for your device another option to look at if you are really into heavy filemanagement is resco explorer this one can certainly also do mass delete of files

Re: what launcher is best for the 600
now you two!
The comma key maybe broken, or the shift key too!
I have not utilized a launcher on any of my handhelds todate, yet my researching would have me lean toward ZLauncher.
Primary reason. It has been updated with some regularity and just because I like it.
Many of these apps have trial periods, and the best advise that is often repeated, "find what you like and you will use it"
A Palm handheld is a 'one size fits all" solution only because it has so many options to be tailored to your use. Experiment.Welcome to Brighthand

Hello chelli614
ZLauncher is indeed heavy on resources, but it can run very well on the 600. At work there were some 600 users who had ZLauncher on their Treos with no problem at all. Just that with the lo-res screen the eye-candy wasn't as impressive as on hi-res devices, but all the functionality was there.
And yes, for mass delete a file manager is enough. ZLauncher has its own file manager that can do this too.raspabalsa

BAB, I will claim my shift and comma key were defect at the time of posting my previous reply. And if you do not buy that, I will hide behind the 5th

Re: what launcher is best for the 600
In fact, ZLauncher is absolutely perfect. I use it with the free WhiteIsWhite skin. One particularly useful feature is "Move to card". This moves your application and all databases, but leaves the preferences in place. You then have shartcut which is 2k big.
I took this one step further and set up a folder structure on the card (online, office, games etc.) to hold all the shortcuts and pointed a ZLauncher category to this. Now I have 793 software titles taking 210MB of space. None of them is more than 3 clicks away and will load quite quickly. Even something complex like QuickOffice+Printboy is on my screen in under 15 seconds.
There are some obvious exceptions: System extensions have to stay in main memory and some programs simply won't work this way (Quickipedia, Botzam Midi Player). Others need hotsyncing (Agendus, AvantGo, RadioTimes). But all in all, I have close to 8MB free memory.
BTW, no complaints about the reliablility. I used my machine everyday quite heavily for 2 years. The reason why I am upgrading now is that I managed to damage the screen (area of yellow dead pixels, not the dreaded orange blob).
And I am still struggling to get my new Treo 680 to work in exactly the same way...
