Backup/Restore
I got my 128 MB SD card on Thursday, and one of the first things I tried with it was running the DataBackup utility to backup my e310 to it.
Low and behold, on Friday I had the e310 lock up bad enough that a soft reset wouldn't bring it back; I had to go for the hard reset.
After the hard reset, I crossed my fingers and tried to run a Restore from my SD card. On my restore, it hung for quite a while at 82%; in fact, the first time, I thought it hung for good so I reset it. The second time, I let it run for as long as it needed, and after 10 minutes, all was restored.
The only weird thing was, I had to delete the partnership data on my desktop and re-establish a new partnership. I'm not sure if this is normal or not?
If the restore had failed, I wouldn't have lost any data, but it did save me time from loading all my extra applications again.Ron

Interesting experience. Thanks for the comments. I'm fairly satisfied with the backup program too. Unlike the HP one, you don't have to have a preset amount of space on the card. I hated on the Jornada how it would require 20 MB and then end up only really using 5 MB to backup my RAM. WTF!
About the partnership, does a restore rename the device to what it previously was? Perhaps that's why you had to do all that junk over again.

Yes, the restore appears to have brought back the same device name. But, when I connected it to my desktop, it asked whether I wanted to create a new partnership, or connect as guest. And, when I chose to create a partnership, it complained that I already had one defined.
