Hi TX lovers! I have been experiencing soft resets while sending e-mails via Agendus Mail.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks!

Yup. I dumped Agendus Mail in favor of Snappermail. Haven't had a reset since.

Yes, this was one of my disappointments.
It seems to work on most of the apps I have on the TX, but totally crashes Blazer, and is problematic with some other apps. With what I've seen so far, it seems to have something to do with screen re-draws, but I'm not willing to fight it any more. I would *love* to find a replacement if anyone knows of one! Bye-bye, CIC (sniff)

Hmmm... this is different from another poster's experience with WordComplete. This may be another program that's hard to isolate faults.

I had the same problem, so I mailed TealPoint and they now have a beta of 3.83 which uses the DIA on-screen toggle icon to turn screenwriting on and off.

You can find it at http://tealpoint.com/beta.htm

    Marginal Apps
The following apps do not negatively impact my Tx and I am using both even with their imitations.
    1. CrashPro 2.22 Beta1- Does not catch all crashes and fatal resets but does catch and log a few. This is a beta only.
    2. *FileMaker Mobile 2.1.1.1- Syncs perfectly with FileMaker Pro 6 and all databases are readable on Tx. Unfortunately you can not edit databases on Tx. I will undoubtedly upgrade to Mobile 8.0 which should be released very soon.

    Apps to avoid
The following apps do not work at all on Tx and some of them negatively impact it.
    1. Moon Phase 2.7
    2. AutoExec
    3. Palm Internals
    4. Parking Lot
    5. FontBucket 1.46
    6. FontSmoother

Moon Phase works if you use RescoLocker on it.

I finally searched for a replacement for it, and found P-MoonTool. It gives more information, and more accurate information, than Moon Phase.

    Attention Moon watchers:

If you want lots of good info and lovely graphics, the moon feature of Palmary Clock is very nice. The clock and calendar are highly configurable, there's world times and chime and alarm settings. If you don't already have three or four of these clock programs sitting around, I recommend it.

I haven't seen anyone mention it so I will:

I am having issues with Qlaunch.

I can install it, activate it, and set up some features. It then seems to work fine. However if I attempt to change settings it will cause a soft reset and the settings do not take.

I have not yet tried deleting preferences and completely setting up each time to edit prefs, based on my experience this may work.

Also one may need to be careful with ButtonsEX and Agendus.

Somehow I managed to make none of my buttons an applications button. Boy that one was tricky to get out of (I had to eject and insert my SD card to fix it, little tip for anyone else silly enough to do this :) )

Has anyone tried Card Reader 0.96? I saw that someone posted that 0.95 worked on the TX but I installed 0.96 and it does not seem to be working.

    Here's another problematic app:

There is an old, free version of AIM that's still available if you search hard enough. The good news is that it works just fine, and has never crashed on me. The bad news is that when you do have a Hard Reset for ANY reason (whether intentional or not), it will force a Reset Loop. It took me several hours or determined trial and error to figure this out. Using BackupMan, I eventually determined that doing a full restore without AIM solved my Reset Loop issue. Hope this helps....

i never tried "view hidden volumes" but once i read in another thread that this works i tried it and voila, i can now see the hidden volume on the tx. so filez should be moved to the good list.

i have had another trip to reset heck, so if i find a culprit other than builtin pim database corruption i will post it here...

Okay, I've bumped Filez happily up to the working list. In fact, after EXTENSIVE testing and use of Filez, I'd like to nominate it to be the first item in the "100% Compatible" list.

Any objections? Has anyone had any problems with Filez whatsoever on the T|X?

I haven't been able to actually see any files in the TX hidden folders using FileZ, but I have been able to see them using FileProg. Which is more "compatible"? Dunno.... but I do keep both on my machines, going back several different handhelds. I particularly like that FileProg can work on several tagged files (consecutively) whereas FileZ will refuse to work if you have more than one file tagged (why let you tag more than one if it won't let you do anything?)

Filez has been working perfectly for me since day one; not quite sure why it was thought to be questionable to begin with...

Some functions in Filez (Move and Copy come to mind) work quite well with multiple tagged files. Others, like Details, require that only one item be selected.
