    i have moved 97 percent of my t3 apps to the tx so i'm starting a thread about what works and doesnt work yet.

    for now, i am posting about three apps known not to work:

    ** fullpower (i mistakenly said pxaclocker earlier, doh!)

    ** cardreader (new version may be available soon)

    ** novii remote deluxe

    ** i was afraid/too busy to try tealscript, so if anybody tries it and it works post here and i will try it.

    what has worked for me
    * eucre
    * adobe reader (the version on the cd has an october 2005 date but it is the same old tired 3.05)
    * battery graph
    * becrossword
    * ereader (came on cd)
    * giraffe
    * majongg
    * freejongg
    * bubblewrap
    * rtbackup (have not tested restore)

    edit:
    i forgot to mention the following apps which also work fine:
    * filez
    * silverscreen 3.0.3
    * splashid
    * bubblewrap (muhuhahaha)
    * tcpmp
    * wifile (came on cd - clunky but works - connected to my netstorage drive in 2 tries)

    edit again:

    it wasnt pxaclocker, it was fullpower that did not work. sorry to scare all you overclockers out there. no i have not tried pxaclocker yet and i dont plan on it for some time...

    Since you've loaded your PIMs, can you check to see if Find lists more than 8 Contacts results and if it lists the Date and Time on Calendar results (which is still broken on the E2).

    Also, do you have TextPlus and how is it going, particularly with any Backup application?

    Bummer about NoviiRemote.

    Just curious but since it worked on the T3, T5, E2 and LifeDrive, can anyone venture a guess what would have changed to make it no longer work on the TX? (Probably a Palm internals thing, but it seems like something you would expect would still work.)

    FullPower doesn't work. FileZ works. TCPMP works. UDMH might work.

    when i launch novi remote deluxe on tx, i get a message about "not being compatible with this device's infrared port" or some such horsehookey. i hope they've got a fix soon.

    How strange. I (for one) would have thought they wouldn't do much with the IR port, but I guess I'd be wrong. Thanks for the info. Looking at the version history on the Novii page it looks like they'll probably come out with an update like they did with the E2.

    I thought I saw a post here from earlier today, from the FullPower developer, saying that he's just release v1.12 to work with the TX?

    Sorry for posting this in 2 places. I just wanted to make sure that you saw it. I hope to learn from your successes.
    I will be migrating from a T3 to a Tx when mine arrives tomorrow or Monday. My most important apps are all updated for the T5. How did you move the majority of your apps: bluetooth or from your backupcard?I have the most recent BackupBuddyProVFS update that apparently works great on a T5 now. Did you need to install Palm Desktop from the CD or is the current updated version on the Palm website the same one? Did you reinstall over the old version or start from scratch?
    Has anyone checked FileMakerMoblie 6 on a Tx yet?
    Thanks for being in the vanguard on this one and thanks in advance for anwering my questions and providing and useful tips. I intned to post my experiences as well

    Does anyone know if the original Palm wireless keyboard (not the universal keyboard) works on the TX?

    Find lists 8 contacts, then if I hit find more it shows more. I think only 8 of em fit on a page. I tried find on calendar entries and I see a list of calendar entries on the left and date/times on the right. To try to figure out what you are getting at, I had to go down in the basement and fish for my t3 (my how quickly it got relegated!)

    I see no difference in the find on t3 versus tx. Can you elaborate on what is broken?

    I remember find couldn't detect substrings in the middle of words. It is probably still broken in that respect.

    E2 Find gets you 8 Contacts, period. More returns the same 8. Event Find returns the Event but not when, so if I search on "Haircut," I get a long list of Haircut on the left and nothing on the right, leaving no idea when they occurred or will occur. Glad to see that the TX has the repaired version.

    After installing Netchaser 1.52 on my shiny (sorry it's black) new TX I noticed that the WiFi connection wouldn't work anymore. After deleting this program everything was just fine again.

    Cheers.

    After some playing around, I think the following progs appear to work OK (in no particular order):

    - DateBK5 5.4s5
    - QuickNews 1.10
    - HandyShopper 2.9c
    - HandMap 5.1.3
    - RescoExplorer 2.52
    - LauncherX 1.1.1
    - pTunes Deluxe 3.1.1
    - StockManager 4.44
    - ChessGenius 2.20
    - Hiarcs 9.5a
    - Sol Free 4.5
    - TCPMP 0.66
    - Plucker 1.8
    - BackupBuddyVFS 3.1.4 (did a few partial restores)
    - CardTXT 0.50a

    Cheers.

    Free, but a lite version. Full version available at their site and the usual places.

    Thanks. Any idea what the limited functionality are? Hope I'm not asking too much.

    asking about wifile from the tx cd, wongckel wrpte:
    version on cd lets you browse files on the network and clicking on a file causes it to immediately be transferred to your handheld.

    rather primitive. i will look into what the full version gives you. i would like a two-pane view of files with the ability to drag files back and forth and i definitely don't like highlighting a file caused an immediate copy!

    more apps known to work:
    * acidimage 2.2e
    * bejeweled 2.0
    * bigclock 2.8
    * mummymaze 1.3
    * simcity 1.7p (068) (the one on the sd card that wont run in internal memory)
    * lemmings (woohoo!)
    * freejournal 2002
    * bobs calc 1.338 (rpn)
    * neocal 2.0.2 (did i already mention this one?)
    ** power48 runs fine from card (internal app could not find rom files on sd card)
    -using 48sx ROM reports 3.8 meg of dynamic heap remaining
    -using 48gx ROM reports 3.1 meg of dynamic heap remaining
    -THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DYNAMIC HEAP TO LOAD THE 49G ROM file!

    * watchmaker 1.2.2
    * medmath1.2
    * yahtze 2.0
    * pssh 2004-12-30
    * slovoed (dictionary) 4.13
    * webpro 1.0 (asks to be your default browser - i thought we could get away from this kind of poopoo on a handheld :( )

    another app known NOT to work:
    ** pxaclocker induces a soft reset (doesnt work)

    Got my TX loaded up. I'll end up doing some repeats, so may as well do them all, for the sake of another data point:

    Does not work:

    NetChaser - runs but finds nothing, seems to do odd things with wifi.

    MedCalc - runs fine except for the keypad. Hitting the keypad causes a soft reset. Keying numbers in seems to work fine.

    TuSSH - connects, does keys fine, but has display problems

    [edit] Zlauncher goes to the does not work pile :( Man does it do some weird stuff.

    Need to try yet: ZLauncher. Frankly, the default Palm launcher leaves a lot to be desired. I really want this to work, and will be removing the Favorites App asap.
    Card Export - looks like it will work, haven't done much with it yet
    NetSync - runs, haven't tried sync yet

    Works:

    2sky
    AeroPlayer
    bejeweled
    blueboard
    bubblesOS5
    buzzword generator (which would have been a deal breaker ;)
    Convert
    Eponyms
    EtherType
    EzFTP
    HeartsOS5
    IPCalc+
    LightNZip
    Mergic Ping
    Mergic VPN
    MMPlayer
    MobileDB
    netClock
    PalmVNC
    PayOff Plus
    PortScanner
    ptelnet
    snapCalc5
    SolFree
    Spaceward HO! (haven't gotten too far into)
    upIRC
    WebPro
    Zap!2016

    more yet to load too, so far, I am quite pleased.

    How did you get Card Expert 2.20 to work? Everytime I click connect a small window pops up on my PC telling me that new hardware was found and that a driver has to be installed (which one?, there's nothing on TX's CD).

    I guess I'm missing something pretty simple here?

    Thanks and Cheers.

    I agree. I can't stand the favorites app either.

    Silverscreen works but it pales in comparison to zlauncher. In fact I would say Silverscreen is mostly fluff and not enough useful utility to justify buying a copy. I bought it a while ago but refuse to send them any more money to "upgrade"

    I kept it around on my t3 because the t3 couldn't really see all the files on my sd card, but silverscreen could see them all. This is no longer a problem on TX. SD card handling seems to be flawless :)
