What was the original Desktop version for Palm TX? If someone is running XP can they use Desktop 4.1.4 that came with the Tungsten E instead of Desktop 6.2 by Access?

    The original is 4.2

The TX can use any earlier version. I used to run the TX off of the 4.1 desktop that came with my Alphasmart Dana.

Do you know where 4.2 can be downloaded? It is not available @ Palm for the E or TX.

Can't be downloaded as far as I know. Only on the TX CD.

No, it is not, no matter what Palm claimed in 2005, though I no longer have links to sources of many posts here of people who ran into problems using 4.1.4E with the TX. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it is not the same.

4.2 off the TX CD is to be preferred if you have a TX andit is available.
