I saw some posts looking for Versamail settings for accessing AKO mail, but I didn't see the solutions. I finally got mine working, so I thought I would share.

I am using Versamail V3.1C on a T|X using Yahoo! over wireless SBC/ATT DSL. I have not tried to figure out the hotsync option.

    Here are my settings...

    Mail Service: Other
    Protocol: IMAP
    Username: (AKO username)
    Password: (AKO password)

    Email address: (AKO email address)
    Incoming Mail Server: imap.us.army.mil
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.att.yahoo.com *

    Incoming Port: 993
    Use SSL: checked

    Outgoing Port: 25 *
    Use SSL: UNchecked *
    Use ESMTP: checked *
    Username: (ATT/Yahoo! email) *
    Password: (ATT/Yahoo! password) *

If this is the first time you are accessing AKO though the ATT ISP, you will have to follow the Yahoo! email address verification process. You can find the instructions at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html

    * Note that the asterisked settings are ATT dependant. Other ISPs may require their own modifications to the AKO default settings.

What is AKO mail? Is it a service like gmail, AOL, Yahoo, etc.?

    Thanks.
