Any suggestions for map software for the IPAQ that covers the UK. I am after both

    a) Street level maps, and
    b) Ordinance Survey style maps for walking, route planning etc.

If these can be interfaced with a GPS then even better.

    Thanks
    Mike

Does Autoroute include maps of Ireland?

Search for the new UK map at pocketpc.cz. I saw one there. The software name is UK City Maps.

I've used autoroute very happily for some time now. The other package that I use - if you don't want to store maps on CF - is Routeplanner Millenium Europe. It's really good, works out trips all across Europe (including Greece).

    Jamesy

you just said that Millenium Europe is OK.

I just tried the demo of the US version and I thought the interface and detail a bit fuzzy.

    Is true??

It's not as "pretty" as Pocket Streets, but it takes a GPS and contains all of Europe in less space than Pocket Streets does London.

You can zoom into a pretty high level of detail. (I've attached a very blurred picture that I have just taken of the program zoomed right into the village that I live in - very, very blurred actually).

I think that PS and RP intersect, but do two very different jobs. If I'm searching for specific points, then I will export a map to Pocket Streets from Autoroute 2001 - along with all the POIs.

If I need directions whilst driving, or want a running idea of where I am, then I'll use RoutePlanner.

When PocketStreets2002 comes out, it may be that the GPS functionality there exceeds RoutePlanner. However, it will still require vastly more space for the maps.

EG. Inside M25 in PS is 10.1Meg, UK and Ireland on RP seems to take less than half a meg.

Thanks for that. I understand what you mean about they intersect.

I wonder what is going to available with AR2002

I understand PStreets is upgraded, but with better maps?
