Watched the episode which introduced Martin Lloyd, Point of No Return (2000, S4/Ep11). Willie Garson is a wonderful actor. :newpalm:

Mozzie! I look forward to that. I'm still in season 2.

This is just a random Stargate thought having binged (so far) nearly 10 seasons of SG-1 and almost 3 seasons of Stargate Atlantis. Is it just me or are shields on space craft in this universe generally useless? Personal shields seem to do okay, but even shields using Asgard technology-- a couple of hits and they're down to 20%.

Aren't shields *supposed* to be able to take hits? :vbconfused: :vbwink:

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled discussions.

From what I've seen, depleted shields are almost always paired with some other sort of incident which first hobbles power supply or otherwise compromises the integrity of the structure. One thing leads to the other.

It's probably like a lot of product reviews: you usually only hear about the failures. :D

Woz, did you watch The Halcyon? Sadly it was cancelled, but I enjoyed it. Too bad no one seemed to pick it up.

< lelisa13p raises hand in favor of The Halcyon, having previously set as a series recording on DVR >

I noticed yesterday that The Halcyon (as well as the series Versailles at 9 PM) is showing up on my scheduled recordings for this coming Saturday 10 PM on Ovation Network. I'm okay with watching Season One again, although I also wish that it had been renewed. Evidently the ratings overall weren't as good as they'd hoped. :vbfrown:

I guess Timeless isn't! They will not renew a 3rd season but there is talk of a 2 hour TV movie.

Timeless barely escaped the ax last time around. This season was a gift, IIRC, series having been given the time slot of something else (I don't know what) that was cancelled mid-season.

TTYTT, as much as I like Timeless and everyone in it, except for its particular gizmo for facilitating time travel, it's pretty much Quantum Leap (which I also really like.) :newpalm: Sinister element causing history to go wrong, creating the need for Our Hero/s to pop in and Save the World.
