Thanks, hc. The most important things to me, day to day, are my contacts and some apps
I use almost daily. Contacts are cloud backed up 2 ways, and being rooted, I take advantage of Titanium Backup Pro. So at this point, I'm back to where I need to be. I do have to re-disable various audible notifications, and I do like my hand-made calendar, but that's mostly wants, not needs. <g>

If you haven't used Nova before, play with Activities shortcuts as well as gestures. Nice features! Swipe actions on folders and icons is pretty useful, too.

HC, you might also want to check out Calengoo, which is feature rich (including being able to have nearly any background color you want) and can create it's own database which is much better than the stock Android calendar database.

Not sure how this would work... I extensively use Google calendar, for work, my better half, and family. Need compatibility with all of them?

That's the nice thing about Calengoo. It works seamlessly with Google Calendar and and adds features on the user side. It doesn't mess with or fight with the way Google calendar does things.

it's DIY, so you can include what *you* want -- some folks go bonkers with their designs (calendar & time on left, Space Invaders on the right, or PacMan…). the size is variable, too.
