This could be the end of Brighthand (but it's not, for now)

    Got alerted by an attentive BH poster that they couldn't access BH. I could, and dug deeper.

    The domain brighthand.com has expired and will ultimately either deadlink or send you to a domain for sale landing page.

    I've no idea if this is oversight, or if this is the end... It very well could be...

    I've sent communications up the chain asking what is going on. If I hear back... I'll post if I can.

    I've connected with a few of you offline on FB already. That's my preferred means of communication outside of here. You're welcome to send me a message on here if you'd like to connect with me on there...

    If BH goes down... thank you all for the wonderful memories, and friendships!

    Why is it labeled an "Expired Domain" when the Registry Expiration is 2022?

    BTW, I have frequently been unable to access BH on just one computer, using Firefox. When That happens, I can use another browser (Edge, for example) and it will connect fine but Firefox won't. It happens intermittently, but only on that one laptop. The desktop right next to it never has a problem. Never been able to figure it out.

    That's the nameserver of DNC Holdings, and that's what brighthand.com now points to. If you lose your DNS cache, you'll end up on a Domain For Sale page. I don't understand the expiration date well enough to tell you what exactly expires in 2022.

    For reference, notebookreview.com expires in Feb. This is what it should look like..

    It looks to me like the hosting service has expired-- notice that Notebook review is hosted by Tech Target themselves. Maybe they are just moving Brighthand?

    Tell the powers that be that if they don't attend to us, we'll all invade Notebook Review and take over their break room. They do NOT want that. :vbeek: :vbgrin:

    I just logged into NBR. I had forgotten I had somehow managed to become a moderator over there, years ago. Well... I got canned from that position long ago. While the look and feel are the same... the community is certainly different. I don't expect them to weather this either.

    I've heard nothing from my inquiry that I shot off earlier this morning. With the expiration of NBR less than a month away, I am starting to feel that this is more or less the final demise. You get notifications that these are going to expire far in advance. The fact that BH is expired, and NBR is now under a month from expiration...
