I just started reading through this thread again and clicking various links for no good reason. Anyway, the tapwave website is back up as a tribute site. http://www.tapwave.com/about.html

I wasn't aware of them back then, but reading the History from their site brings back all sorts of thoughts of what could have been - Palm & HP....

    Thanks for stopping by.
Google Showtimes was discontinued on November 1, 2016. You can now discover showtimes on the search results page by searching for the name of the movie you want to see or try searching for the word “movies” to discover what’s in theaters.

    Sincerely,

    The Google Showtimes team
Many moons ago, when I was super stingy with data, screens were half as big as now and mobile browsers were a lot less impressive, I used google movies to find listings. The listings were tiny and clean beyond minimalism. On one page, every nearby theatre with every time for every movie. Very efficient. By comparison, everything else feels like an all out assault on the senses. Like interactive billboards in Minority Report.
