I have Dimex installed with my PD 4.2 - that allows me to export my Calendar, edit it in Excel, and re-import it.

Is there anything similar for Contacts or To-Dos? I have a lot in there that needs some cleaning and finding/replacing and it would be easier in Excel or Word (hell, Notepad) than in PD.

    Thanks

I believe you should be able to export your contacts directly from the Palm Desktop under File/Export, then open the file in Excel.

    For ToDos, try http://www.palm2csv.com/

PalmDesktop has the ability to export/import contacts without needing a 3rd-party app. Under PD, go to Contacts, then to the menu, select Import or Export as you need, then in the dialogue that opens choose the file format you want. You can use csv, txt, both of which can be easily trasfered to Excel. I find it useful to first export my contacts to a file, so as to create a template with the proper columns and field formats that I can use to add newer contacts.

EDIT: Should have hit the refresh button before replying :)

Bumping the question, specific to Tasks/To-Dos... Somewhere along the line, I got many many duplicate To-Dos and would like to do a mass edit if possible. (Duplicate Finder doesn't catch them; somehow each iteration of duplication added one day to the Due Date... So it's not even easy to do a sort and see which are duped!)

I've never used any tool to remove duplicates in Palm PIM data, but a quick google search yielded LivePIM Duplicates Cleaner. I can't vouch for it, but the description looks promising:

Thanks. Will try that. Still would love a way to export massive to-do lists (e.g., "Books to Read" that I started on my Palm Pilot Pro) and edit in Excel before re-importing.
