After HotSyncing, the stylus alignment is so off that I can not use the unit.

Does anyone have similar issues, and if so, what's the solution?

Hello jw6o9, welcome to BrightHand :D:D:D

What is your System or Backup conduit set to do on your desktop ? It should be Handheld overwrites Desktop ...

In case this was already correct, already considered to use DigiFix or an alternative ?

I've switched the Backup conduit to Desktop overwrites Hanheld for the moment. The Palm V has no data on it and, I'm trying to load the data from the desktop into it.

The Backup conduit should ALWAYS be as I indicated.
When you change it, make certain to tick 'Set as default' or it will revert back after the next hotsync.

    Received via PM:
    From the enclosed html files:
Depending on the OS you have on your device, you do need to install both files as well or not if you want to have this feature.
Do you have V (OS 3.1) or Vx (OS 3.5) ?

It has been posted here previously (by BAB???) that you can't hotsync a V or Vx to a more current version of the desktop or you will create digitizer issues. There is evidently a problem with the UPDATES folder (found under PALM in the folder tree). Solution is to rename the UPDATES folder, hard reset, and then hotsync.

It's very simple, hard reset the Palm, attach the welcome program to one of the four buttons (I use the tasks button). Sync the palm, hit the Tasks button (or whatever you selected) and then follow the program to setup the screen back to normal.

    Good luck

Thank you for this advice. Hmmm..wonder if a virus caused this problem of the synch throwing the tapping screen totally out of wack!
