Kyodo: SoftBank's offer to buy T-Mobile accepted by DT | TmoNewsTmoNews
On the one hand, TMobile has been pretty disruptive lately (disrupting a crap market being a good thing), not simply rolling out policies of note, but having ATT/VZW feel pressure to respond in kind. That has contributed to increased transparency and awareness of the true cost of smartphones and data, and better lower cost options across the board, hardware and service. On the other hand, Sprint has all the most interesting MVNOs, which I never consider using because I like my gsm smartphone and I like sim cards. Did America just lose a gsm carrier, or did our second biggest gsm carrier just get bigger? Will we get the best of both worlds or the worst of both worlds if the companies collide?

Sprint and T-Mobile to allegedly merge as SoftBank USA, full details leaked | Pocketnow

It's interesting to see Legere at the top. He's colorful and disruptive.

Not loving Softbank as a brand, not that it matters much. Why not Sprinty Mobile?;)
