Hi all. From what I remember during the Palm/Poquet PC/Windows CE era, there was a magazine called Pen Computing. Especially since the handhelds of the day used a stylus. Now that iPhones/iPads, Galaxy Note and other Samsung and Android models use styli or pens/pencils, is the term Pen Computing still relevant now?
IDK. I have an Apple Pencil for my iPad Pro 11 but don't really use it much and have questioned the wisdom of the purchase from time to time. I'm still keeping it.
I just got the Moto G Stylus phone. I have been using Grafitti Pro from the Play Store for all my writing on Android phones. Stylus' (or is it Styluses or Styli) did not work good on the regular Android phones I had (Samsung G4, LG G4 & LG v10) nor on my tablets. Now with this Moto phone writing is great - I don't have to use my finger to write the text anymore & it is much more accurate. Sent from my moto g stylus using Tapatalk
I was active on the old Pen Computing forums for a while. Got into an argument with an Apple Newton MessagePad user who did his best to bash PalmPilots. I wasn't going to let it go unanswered, and after a brief word-scuffle we agreed to disagree and considered ourselves lucky to have choices that suited our needs at the time. That was close to 25 years ago, I think!
Speaking of Graffiti, I presume there were multiple upgrades after Graffiti 2. By the way, what was the name of the company that developed Graffiti?
As far as I know Graffiti only went to Graffiti 2. Graffiti Pro uses Graffiti 1 - which I prefer. Access is the company? Sent from my moto g stylus using Tapatalk
I have no idea - I just use the results of the developments.... Sent from my moto g stylus using Tapatalk
Not according to Wikipedia. Jeff Hawkins invented Grafitti for Palm. However, when they were sued by Xerox, which claimed a patent on single stroke character recognition, Palm used a system called Jot, which had been created by CIC, to create Grafitti 2 (since there were characters that required more than one stroke, it apparently satisfied Xerox ). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graffiti_(Palm_OS)
