Well, PalmGear has now become PocketGear. A few of things that I noticed off the bat are:
    1) my email and password from PalmGear are not recognized.
    2) Because of 1, my past purchases are not present.
    3) All of the freeware apps are gone. Searched for MetrO and a variety of others, nothing.
    4) The search function appears to be REALLY bad.
    5) The ability to see new and updated software at the same time does not exist.
    6) If I enter my device (Palm LifeDrive) it tells me that only 100 titles are available and ONLY shows those!

I have not bothered to log in but there are 272 titles for the TX.

I don't think they are ready to be up yet.

    Sucks the freeware is gone.

The change to pocketgear is not finished. They are still migrating everything. I wouldn't expect to see it fully operational yet.

I was able to log in with no problems, but I do miss the "New & updated" section, a regular check for me. Perhaps it will magically reappear...

That's supposed to be easier to use?

It also doesn't make particularly nice with Opera at this viewing. :(

I'll give them a week to settle down before I look again. (Alas, this morning all was well.)

My first impression.. Don't like it. The my account looked snazzy at first, but they better get my purchase history in there! I agree with everything said above also. The free software better find its way online! I liked the simple clean approach of PalmGear. This made me think of the more bloated Handango (sorry to any fans).

I think it looks surprisingly similar to Handango myself. I think they're trying to make the one-stop-site-for-all-your-mobile-application-needs-type-thing like Handango and many other mobile sites.

I also preferred the little new/updated table to the links they have now :(

    Pocketgear & TX/Blazer/WiFi FAQ

Q: How big is the PocketGear HomePage
    A: Approximately 550 kb

Q: Is it easy to read?
A: The PocketGear title is colorful on a white background the rest, the stuff you really want to see, is black text on an ugly dark grey (almost black) background, so No!

Q:What is the best way to View and Navigate in PocketGear?
A: Fast Mode is the best and at times only way to View and Navigate properly.
    Go to:
    Blazer>Menu>Options>Preferences>General>FastMode
    then Tick
    Disable cascading style sheets
    Don't download images!
Then tap on the LightningBolt Icon on the TopBar of Blazer and select Fast Mode

Q: Can I search for an app?
A: Fast Mode only, to see the 'Search' box.

Q: Is the site user friendly?
A: All apps are listed at the bottom of the page. After scrolling past all the Category titles etc you find 10 apps then you must go to next page. You can only change pages in Fast Mode, so No!

    Q: Can I LogIn?
A: It seems you can in Fast Mode (changes to LogOut) but I was not able to see my account details, maybe later.

Q: What other features work or don't work?
A: I don't know, I got frustrated and gave up.

    Q: Can I download?
    A: No!

    Q: What are the alternatives?
A: SoftPedia has a big range of apps and is TX/Blazer/WiFi friendly for downloads.
It is recommended that you go to
    GooglePDA
    and search:
    palm appname site:handheld.softpedia.com
    then Tap the link provided.

OR for freeware apps, go to
    PalmFreewareMobi

All the best, woz of oz
