Palm Pre-Announces the Centro Smartphone

    Actually, I think I'd prefer it if media outlets compared the prices from the manufacturers without a contract. I would imagine this would put pressure (through the comparitive review process) for manufacturers to lower their MSRPs, rather than this "with contract" rigamarole which seems totally different from carrier to carrier.

    After changing the height of the Centro picture to 85%, it looks a lot more natural and more like the earlier Gandolf pictures.

    I just hope the black version is for GSM Centro.

    You might be thinking of the pictures of the Windows Mobile version Gandolf. That's supposed to have a landscape-oriented QVGA screen, and be a bit larger than the Palm OS version.

    $99 means nothing if you can't type with the tiny keys. Many people have complained about typing on even the Treo keys. Considering the Centro is so small, I can't see how the keys can be about the same size as the Treo. We'll have to wait and see.
