OMG It won't stop raining here! Yesterday afternoon the sun was shining brightly and torrential rain was pouring down in buckets! (The Deep South old people like my Granny used to say that meant the Devil was beating his wife. I never thought of the Devil as married. ) If you need rain, I hope you get it. I'll pass.
I've read this thing about the Devil and his wife, but I can't remember where. Maybe on one of Twain's novels? I recall thinking that this saying made little sense, because rain came from the heavens, while the Devil was deep down under . I didn't stop to wonder about the marital status of the Devil .
Although the forecast says there's a very low chance of rain, the skies are darkening right now. It looks like a typical short-term summer rain storm is coming.
Never have I ever -- oh, wait, wrong thread…still, have never seen so many 'alerts' before: Total of 7 alerts!
I'm on a family vacation at Edisto Island, SC. (Just south of Charleston.) We had all of the dire warnings but nothing ever materialized here - We hardly got any rain. All is clear and nice here now, so we dodged the bullet, so to speak, I suppose.
Oh, the alerts they were a'flyin'! Gorgeous today, so lots of beach time. Will be traveling home tomorrow.
We normally have 19 days of temps over 110F - this year we have had 30 days over 110F. July usually brings us 1" of rain - this past July we had .01" of recorded rain (at PHX). It has been a hot summer! Sent from my moto g stylus using Tapatalk
