Oh I knew it would be simple. Will have to check back later and give you one point for this.
YES! Finally Warching those old T.V commercials has paid off.
Anyway let me try my hand at another one,
A rodent you use to help navigate this site.
hmmmmmmmm............ouch, my head hurts from thinking toooo hard.........could it be..........
Yep, you guessed it Delpita. Are my questions too easy??
To help us keep our minds off of the stress of the upcoming holiday shopping . . . I thought I would bring this topic back... hoping that . . . maybe . . . Nine will give us another one of his clever little "ditties"?
Good idea! What's the score anyway?
Oh, that makes me sound like such a t*sser... <there are loud cries of "But you are, Blanche - you are!" from the rest of Brighthand which Nine ignores>
Here's a few to be going on with. I will dig out some original cluecards from home if people want any more, but most are too suggestively filthy to pad out with asterisks... And just the answer isn't enough - we want every line worked out! When these were written, there were three clues in each show for every prize ranging from cryptic to simple, so some of these may be harder than others.
Before grass, head or root or on jailed Jeffrey?s suits
Men in tights aren?t always dancers
After 'H' it?s a place - after 'N' skinny waist
Could William tell you the answer?
My first starts off frigid and ends up aloof
My next two - electric that flickers
My last ends a clue and I?ll tell you the truth
The cheeks of my whole don?t need knickers...
It comes after ear when you block out commotion
It sits after spark for a car
It lives after bath or it could mean promotion
The ugliest on Bash Street by far...
It?s cricket with leg - in a saying with peg
A mile makes a capital heart
With root or with dance - is it trendy? No chance!
Face up to it - back to the start...
Let?s put on a show ? it?s a paper, you know
Or it comes before pass, coach or fright
It?s restrained after ?ho? ? it?s a stamp after ?po?
And its under me most Sunday nights?*
*I was still working at the time
You know that my diction is free from affliction
So my clues are clipped, clear and crisp
My conundrum to see could possibly be
A small rodent who suffers a lisp...
And to make it more interesting, I will offer to design a new avatar (within reason) for the first poster to get all six clues right if they manage to include an explanation of every hidden reference - some have many and some have only one. Or the first poster to get closest by midnight 31.12.04. No, honestly.
Yikes . . . no pressure there . . . .
And darn my "thinking cap" is at the cleaners . . .
BTW, closest to midnight, huh? Which timezone?
Who am I kidding, I'm not gonna win . . . let alone come up with a half-a$$ answer . . . . . sure would love to have a fancy-smancy smiley avatar tho'!
I could be wrong . . . but going back to when VampiressRN last posted the scores *sigh* . . . sure miss Vampy
and then looking through the posts, here is what I've come up with:
(feel free to make any corrections)
---> Where are ya Holvy? You're good at correcting my mistakes!
echo4lima = 1
Vampy = 8
BAB2000 = 21
jawbone = 3
Delpita = 23
renaissance guy = 1
