Thanks. I'll try that. However, in the meantime I tried to sneak up on it. I installed 4.1.4 on my Vista-based laptop, synced with the 650, then updated with 4.2, and synced the TX. The idea was to get it working on the Vista machine, then on the XP machine, just uninstall Palm and install 4.2 as a fresh, rather than update, install. First time, seemed to work, but the calendar, memos, and tasks were those of over a year ago. Hard reset, uninstalled all, reinstalled all -- now everything seems to be there (well, there are some memos that I had previously deleted, but all the ones I need are still there), but I'm getting the SYS 0505 0841 error when I try to access any application. Hit OK and I can still do everything, but it's annoying. I understand the error is usually due to MyPalm or MyHand or MyTreo, but they don't appear to be on the device, searching by Menu or FileZ. During Desktop installation, the installer wanted access to the Internet and couldn't find it (even though I'm connected) -- I told it to proceed without accessing. That's the only thing I can think of, that it needed to download a file that it couldn't, and now gives the error message. Are we having fun yet?
