I wonder if somebody can guide me in set up the "Stay on in cradle" function in the LD. I have a password set up for normal use, as well as auto off after three minutes, and Stay on on cradle checked. What I'd like is, once unlocked the password, that if I put it into the cradle (normal office hours), it will stays on and not turn off each three minutes (and the password locks it again). There is a way? I did some trials, but none works...the stay on in cradle simply does not work...

The power management and the password protection are probably separate things. I doubt that a palm can screen lock while in use (or on), so it might have to shut off in order for the lock to be imposed. I'd try disabling password protection and see if that lets it stay on.

There is an interaction between the auto-security and the "stay on in cradle." If you have the former, the latter won't work.

Right. It is simply impossible to have the device stay on in the cradle when you have a password lock enabled.

The idea is to prevent you from having your data stolen when you leave the device on when you go down the hall to get coffee.

Mmmh, I understand...altough it is a pity, I think they should be separate things. Once is in the cradle, it should stay on, and I should be able to activate the auto lock once is not in the cradle...

You know, I have coffe machine right next to my door...

I'm pretty sure that there's no setting for "coffee machine proximity." Maybe on one of the GPS units. :)
