    Hello my Brighthand friends!

I managed to corrupt a folder on my HTC Kaiser (AKA T-Mobile Tilt). I can open the folder, rename it, move it, but I can't delete it. I searched here and elsewhere, and the only solutions seems to be rename, reboot and delete (which doesn't work), or hard reset (which I'd rather not do).

When I try to delete the folder, I get three errors: One is that a file is a system file, so I tap yes but it doesn't go; and two for files where 'Access is denied' (either write protected or in use).

Does anyone have another way to delete the folder please?

Have you done a warm reset, and tried?

A warm reset? Is that sticking the pin in the bottom of the device? No I haven't. Every time I do that it removes all my speed dials. I will try though.

No change. Still the same errors and the folder remains. Any other ideas please?

Going to bed now, will check again in the morning.

    PS. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry Ceb, I can only guess as to the types of resets WM has. I don't know if that is how it is done or not.

Have you tried MemMaid or another utility program? It has a storage management section where you can scan and fix or reformat. Resco Explorer was also able to delete a corrupted file that I was not able to get rid of otherwise.

Are there any hidden and/or system files under the folder?

Problem solved, but not in a good way. I installed Sprite Terminator a couple of days ago with he intention of testing it this weekend. I also set a system password so I would need to enter it on power-on. I powered on today, but forgot to enter the password. Next thing I know is that it wiped itself!

My only backup is July, so at least the corrupt folder has gone.

After I've installed all my PC software (got a new drive), I'll reset the smartphone again and start afresh.

    Thanks for your help though.

    Colin.
