Here's a nifty little program with a GUI that automates the MUI file hack to switch individual applications between VGA and QVGA, for people using PPC Win2003 SE (second edition) version.
I like this hack because doesnt require device restart, you can contorl resolution on a per-App basis, and you can stay in the relatively clean SE environment without all the other reso hacks needed.
get the zip at:
see the readme for details.
let me know what you think.
btw, the basic idea of the MUI hack is described at:
Font size and scroll bar size hacks updated in Tweask2K2 to make it more flexible for VGA devices using SE_VGA.

I tried the program, it works up to the OK, then it says that has found an unespected error: file not found, and I must exit.
By the way I have the italian ROM and it installs in Programmi not in Program Files, and this could be the problem.
I tried to move everything to Program Files, but the behaviour is exactly the same.
About the lang code is it correct to maintain the mui file with its original 0409 code or I have to change it to 0410 (italian)??
It seems to be a nice app following the readme file, and would be even nicer if I could have it work as expected .
TIA for any help.
btw, this trick is included in Tweaks2k2 and it uses the right language code depending on the ROM language used in the Pocket PC.
Having a little touble deciding which vga apps to use, to best take advantage of my handheld in all its VGA glory. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Currently own a Toshiba e830W running Windows Mobile 2003SE with OzVGA activated.
neat little program, i like it.
pocketpctools.com seems to be down... where can I get myVGA from?
make sure you have the UnDead Hack installed too....
just drop MyVGA into a folder on your pda and run it, then reboot....
