I have been using a Tx for almost 3 years. I am used to all of the wonderful information available for the Tx. There are several sites that have long lists of compatible apps. There is really nothing substantial available for the Centro. I am hoping that other folks will post the apps they are using on their Centro so all of us become better informed. Hey Ward,

With all the apps you have on your Centro, I'm curious to see how fast it runs.

Would you be willing to run the speed test available in PalmInternals and post your speed results, as well as all your HEDE notifications under Notifications within PalmInternals?

I can see at least a few apps that have been shown to slow down Treos, and as such, I expect they would slow your Centro down as well.

Have you checked the user provided compatibility list at palmfocus.com?

I initiated this thread because the Centro list was seriously lacking the last time that I checked about 3 weeks ago.

I used to have PalmInternals on my Tx and it worked great so I hotsynced it to my Centro. It turns out that it is really buggy on my Centro and caused numerous crashes and resets. There was no consistency to the crashes and resets. I would not recommend keeping or using it on a Centro unless you are prepared for that. That said I did run the tests and here are the results:
    Speed time in tics: 3648
    Speed time in seconds: 36
    hede
    ShortCut5
    FixFiled arm 6484F858 Dyn
    TextPlus m68k 73392388 DBCache
    KeyCaps600 m68k 73287888 DBCache
    'Filed Plus Notify' m68k 73238F78

So headcronie, how would you interpret these results?

I have Filez 6.8.3 on my Centro and it appears to be working ok.

I know it's not supposed to be compatible, I see the file listed in the Incompatible folder on my HD, but still, it seems to be working on my Cenro?

Unfortunately, I would interpret those results as terribly slow. Your blazer web browsing speed is being greatly affected by the apps in your HEDE notifications list.

    My speed test results:
    Time in tics 111
    Time in secs 1

Blazer speed test using http://testmy.net is 2.4mbits at this setting.

Running at approximately the speed that you are, you'll run into web browsing speeds under 500kbits.

You will also notice apps loading slower, and moving slower.

Just for reference, I do not run the database scan on my 755. I have not had it crash on me, but I do not see any benefit from doing so.

I believe you are saying what I suspected. My Centro would run faster without the apps in HEDE. 3 of those apps, I can live without. I really like keycapps and textplus. Would my Centro speed up if I dumped the other three apps?
