I just found my old Atari. (Well, I got it today from an old lady that just died ;))

I'm just curious, is this Atari 520ST worth something, or do I have to keep it stored for another hundred years?

There are quite alot of fans for it. I doubt they would be willing to pay more for it than a PS2 or something.

If you keep it till you are 55, I am sure it will be worth as much as a good ol, antic. Did you know Steve Jobs and Wozniak both worked for Atari at a time?

I am thinking about getting an old Sega Dreamcast.

I recently sold my old Atari 2600 on Ebay with a small pile of games and controllers, and in a case. It went for less than $50. It was worth it as my house has been filling up with stuff recently and less stuff to just store is a blessing. But if you want a return for it you may want to hold onto it for a bit longer.

Of course part of it is just trying to sell it on the right week as well.

My advice is to plug it in and sit down and enjoy it for a few days/weeks/months.

    :D

Ah... Thanks. So Shawn Parr, you think that I should keep it for a couple of years and then maybe I can actually get something for it? :)

NOTE: If you examine any of my portfolios you will discover I am the last person to take investment advice from . . . :(

It is really a shot in the dark whether or not someone who is actually willing to pay for one will be watching ebay. That makes it pretty tough to decide.

I would spend at least a couple months playing it though . . . :D

Also if you do decide to do something like ebay, with an item like this you may have better luck if more of them are for sale rather than less, especially if there are a good number of bids. People may bid on multiple units, or when they go over what they want to pay on another one they will begin to bid on yours. Once you hit 8 bids your luck will increase more.

Once again, please read the note above, and bear in mind that I bought Palm stock on the day of the IPO (lost a lot on that one  )

The Tari is worth something right now. It will only increase as time goes own just as every collectors item does. I keep all my game systems from the original Nintendo and original game boy and will keep the newer systems I have know. Plus you can't beat the oppurtunity to fire up an old game of Super Mario or Pong.

Yaheeaoooo... If I wanted porno, I wouldn't have come here.

And Lex, I got this Atari quite recently. It wasn't me that bought it. I sold my NES for about $45 a couple of years ago, and I regret it bigtime. :)
