While Apple didn't release iOS 7 this week, the release date is known. Starting Sept. 18, users will be able to download the new OS and its more than 200 new features, plus several free Apple apps.

I liked the idea of giving iWork and other apps free for new devices.

Apple doesn't release software at midnight (even if they may sometimes open pre-orders at midnight).

Apple's headquarters is located in the Pacific Time Zone, where it is only 9:50 am on 9/18 at this writing. They just released iTunes 11.1, so I think iOS 7 is coming.

My iPhone worked on the first try, but my iPad took many, many tries to update.

The update took a very long time to install, especially on my iPhone.

But it did work out eventually.

I updated iTunes on a Mac and a PC and didn't have any problems.

After 6 try's it took about 25 minutes to download on my iPad Mini. Haven't tried on my iPhone. I am traveling and do not want any problems.
