It could have been worse, if they had claimed the "10" was binary

Apple already copyrighted "X" for use with mobile device operating systems. The Apple legal time had their finger on the hair-trigger for this annoucement, I'm sure.

(Just kidding about all of the above. Uh...at least I think I am.)

If Apple won't let Google use the "X" and if Microsoft won't let them use the "10", then they just have to head south to find Quimbolitos. They go great with coffee :newpalm:

Oh, cool! Sort of like Twinkies wrapped in a leaf. ;) :D

EDIT: I haven't had quimbolitos, but they seem similar to tamales I've had in Guatemala. Tamales are a basic staple and usually are made with a savory sauce inside, sometimes with pork, chicken or beef and wrapped in a corn husk. The sweet ones usually have fruit and/or nuts and are wrapped in banana leaves.

As far as the "X" goes, I don't believe trademarking/registering a letter of an alphabet is permitted....I suspect the same is true of numbers, all by themselves. Throw in iPhone™ or MacOS™ before (or after?) the letter, and that's a whole different ballgame...

Well, quimbolitos aren't usually stuffed. They're mostly just the dough wrapped in a plantain leaf and steam-cooked.

Humitas are similar to tamales, but they can be stuffed, often with grated cheese. They're not considered a dessert (they're salty), but they also go great with coffee.

I hope to travel to Ecuador some day to experience both quimbolitos and humitos, not to mention the coffee! :newpalm:
