A question about area codes and local numbers

    I don't think I misread this one. Jig wrote that the area codes 507 and 651 (among others) didn't need the 10-digit dialing (although the list may be inaccurate and Jig didn't try all the combinations), so I was surprised yours did, using a 507 phone to call a 651 number while in a 651 area. That would seem the least likely combo to require that if 507 numbers can call 651 numbers according to the list and you're actually using a tower in a 651 zone. I would think if someone had a 507 or 651 number, it wouldn't matter where in those area codes not requiring 10 digits one was calling from. Perhaps there is some quirk and cellphones behave differently, because the local tower is actually executing the call.
