I've recently got a HTC One M8 and set it up (it's been working great). But I have noticed some sort of icon that I haven't seen on other Android phones I've had. It's right next to the Wi-Fi icon. I would appreciate the help.

    welcome to Brighthand, Forwward

it would be a great help if you could take a screenshot and post it, and tell us exactly which icon you're asking about. our resident HTC One user may be able to answer your question.

    Welcome to Brighthand, Forwward!

It might be the NFC (Near Field Communications) icon.

EDIT: If you're on Sprint, here is a list of status bar icons.

Good one jig, was wondering what it was, it appeared after the last Sense skin update on the original One and only just noticed now that my M8 has it if the NFC is enabled and not there if disabled

If it's not the NFC logo, and it looks like a little b, it's the Boomsound speaker icon-it appears when your phone is playing music.
