In honor of DST ending for 2011, Bill Amend may be giving Mr. Jobs a chuckle today:
Are you suggesting they get Foxtrot comics in heaven? I guess I believe that.
I don't get the DST reference, but I found that cartoon funny in the Sunday paper.
Do you live in a place that has Daylight Savings Time?
When DST ends, we "turn back the clock" an hour to regular time. If we could literally turn back time, Mr. Jobs would still be here (along with many other's dearly missed loved ones, like my own dear old Dad.) Isn't turning back the clock the emotional whimsy associated with nostalgia?
Where is time travel when you really need it...
If you've got $100,000 to spare, I hear the forthcoming Electric DeLorean might work...
Plenty of time left to dust off any available flux capacitors.
Pretty moving, Lauren. Sometimes it'd be good that we just had to miss the annoying dude with turtleneck sweaters, and not all those beloved persons long since gone.
Speaking of time travel, I really wonder if I would actually enjoy it. There are several chapters of the past, that I'm not yet sure I could work them out right even in a second chance Better leave them wrong as they are.
Yes, I live where DST applies. I just didn't make the connection with the strip. Good catch though. I was concentrating more on the CAN'T turn back the clock aspect.
I thought particularly of Mr. Jobs because of the obvious spoof "iFruit", complete with leaves on top and mango-like coloring (which turned up in many daily Foxtrot strips of that time since it was the Fox family computer) and Apple.
Insofar as fixing the past is concerned, in order to trade off some bad choices, the net result would be the elimination of some very good things in my life so I'd probably hold off, too.
