Hey raspy, my sister is on the other side of Lake Titicaca from you (Peru). I'll have her wave.
Hi, jig! And hi, jig's sister!
I really love the "Playing For Change" project and this is a really uplifting one.
There is so much hate in the world these days.
The beauty of these offerings and the cooperative spirit of the participating individuals invariably leaves me tapping my feet, if not outright dancing around the room, and with my chest full of pride for humans when we are at our best. And I always cry.
Thank you, my friend.
Love it! The whole "Playing for Change" project and that song too.
This is Mrs. R's and my favorite song from that project:
It's also one of our top 10 favorite songs of all time. Brings very happy memories to both of us every time we play it or hear it anywhere. We usually sing it aloud, dancing in each other's arms. I love her!
I saw the second video some years ago, and I must admit that this was the first time I heard the Bilbo song. I had to look up to see if it was a real song and was surprised to see Nimoy actually singing it. The second video is hilarious.
I just stumbled on this a couple of weeks ago and it keeps floating through my head. This was a promo made last November for the Broadway Musical based on Alanis Morissette's phenomenal album "Jagged Little Pill" that came out in the mid-90s. It shows the cast rehearsing and performing my favorite song from that album during the j0urney from the repertory theater to Broadway. Because it was made in November 2019 with bits filmed before that, it is kind of emotional porn in terms of what we can't do anymore, but the lyrics of the song seem so appropriate for the mess we find ourselves in now. It's something fun and uplifting.
