Default Windows XP and Palm m505: No sync possible?

    Howdy Brightminders, I mean Brighthanders,

I was telling my friend about this great forum and she asked me to post this query: whether it is possible to sync her Palm m505 with her computer that runs Windows XP. She has heard it's a no-can-do-situation and she knows she should be doing something to back up her valuable data.

What say thee, esteemed members of the Palm Jury? Many many thanks,
    Glennski

Yes, a m505 can be sync'd to the Palm desktop version 4.1 or newer, installed on a XP platform.

The desktop version bundled with the m505, v4.01, did not include the USB drivers for XP, and was corrected with release v4.1.

The link for v4.1.4 is here.

Review the details and you will observe it includes the m500 series.

To install on the XP platform, the user must have admin rights for the install and first hotsync.
