Default Palm TX - Intellisync - Lotus Notes

    Hi,

I'm syncing my TX with Lotus Notes (5.0.12) using Intellisync (5.3.2). Issues:
    > Calendar alarm reminders do not to the TX.
    > Lotus Notes LOCATION field does not map to TX LOCATION field.

I have attempted to fix this via the field mapping settings but it remains unresolved.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to Brighthand, manamp27!

Sorry I haven't used Intellisync lately, but I heard a horror story about it a few years back. Apparently once you sync with Notes, your data is somehow changed so that you can never sync with Palm Desktop ever again. I'm sure they've fixed this in the 5+ years since I heard about this issue, but you might want to back up all your data somehow just in case you ever want to be able to sync with Palm Desktop or Outlook or lose access to your Lotus Notes account for some reason.

    Welcome to Brighthand, manamp27!

My TX is crashing my PC at the moment, so I can't do much checking for you. I do use Intellisync with Lotus Notes and noticed the same problem. I do know that I had the Location mapped in a previous installation, but haven't played with mapping recently. I don't think I ever had the alarm working.

    Here's what I found on Intellisync's Help:

    Calendar for Palm OS devices
    Location Field

Because the Palm OS Date Book does not have a location field, Intellisync appends location information to the end of any information in the Subject field, as shown in the following example:

    Subject (Location)

The Location field is not mapped by default. To edit the Location field information on the device, map the Location field and then enter location information between the parentheses following Subject. Note that if there is more than one set of parentheses in the Subject field, only the information contained in the last set of parentheses is transferred.

Welcome to Brighthand, manamp27. Given the circumstances, making a back-up as soon as possible sounds sensible. Search on here - there are even some good free applications (NVBackup?).

    Guys,

I run Intellisync just perfect on my computer with my T3 (already since my M105).
Location comes over nicely with the latest version I installed (le'me check .... 5.5 that is).
I do run Notes version 6.5 (before it was 5.8 and worked ok as well with IS5.3)
Info is NOT changed, reverting back to PalmDesktop is painless.

Let's stick to the facts please ...
Digital since 1980, handheld since 2001
M105 (retired but still working), T|E (sold)
    T3 + ADAPT BT GPS + Viamichelin 3.2 + Palm WiFi card
Treo 500v with WM6.1 and Treo 680 in the drawer
Desire S - rooted -Virtuous Quattro beta 5 - Ice Cream Sandwich
    Acer Iconia A500 Tablet - rooted - Thor A500 ROM v14.2 - Honeycomb 3.2.1

Having a rather busy schedule at work, so I am not around that much lately.

Hmmm. Maybe it was EasySync that was garbling data. Hey it was a few years ago. The device was a Vx or a Palm III. So it might be that Intellisync was never broken to begin with. I'm not sure. Anyway, when we were having the problem, Lotus Notes 5.0 wasn't deployed yet at our company. I think we were on 4.5(?)

Thanks for all your replies. Pls note that up until the purchase of the TX in August, I was syncing a Palm m515 to Lotus Notes without any problems.

The main issue at the moment is that the Lotus Notes alarm setting is not transferring to the TX, so any assistance in resolving this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again.

Have you reinstalled the Intellisync conduit after upgrading PalmDesktop ?

The structure of the PIMs database is a bit different from M515 to TX ...
