    Default outlooks eating my tasks,memos.

outlooks eating my tasks, memos over and over i have been trying to sync and can't get it to work. What is the best way to move from one computer to another. some how I lost all my memos and tasks!! help!!

I first loaded the pdt on my new computer then the outlook conduits. I did a sync and bam all of its gone. I wonder how i can get the outlook to work. since this I did a test, added a memo in my outloook and synced it won't show up on the palm tx . I then added a memo on the palm and it won't add to outlook.

In the Start menu, the folder having the PalmDesktop item also contains a folder called PIM Conduit Sync. Make sure to select there Outlook Sync.

Then right click Hotsyncmanager (it should be in your taskbar), and verify the conduits for Contacts, Calendar, Memos and Tasks are set to synchronize. If you need to change them, make certain to check the 'set as default' flag before acknowledging.

    Other questions:
    - What platform are your running on ? Win XP or Win XP Media Edition ?
    - Did you install using an account that has full admin settings ?

ok , this is a new computer and I thought I could just load pdt then outlook conduits and sync my info , instead it keeps eating it. I just did what you said changed to outlook conduits, then checked for syncing files it all there but if i type a memo on the palm then sync it doesn't show up on the computer.

    running xp media edition
i have full rights to the computer.

It CAN be done. You just need to follow a very specific order of installation. See the details in the thread I referred to.

It is because the way USB devices are registered has changed in Win XP ME.

they talk about syncing by bluetooth with a patch, nothing about the cable or wifi.

Syncing over Wifi is for me the same as syncing over BT.
It means no USB connection is required to a 'Palm' device ... hence you circumvent the ME specific issue regarding USB registration.

that means I have to download some patch , and pay more money to get it to sync over wifi. can't palm just create a patch or are they to lazy to catch up to the rest of the world!!! I would hate to switch to a PPC but for simplity and completity maybe my work is right micro with micro products and apples with palms!! I am hot right now and need to claim down before lookin into syning by wifi. yuhghghgggghhhhh..
