If you have the power supply/hotsync dangle combo at your office, you can hotsync it to your PC there while it is charging all day long. You really don't need the charger at home. However, if you want a charger at your home and the hotsync at your office, you are going to need to purchase an additional charger to keep at home.

Default Why did Sony designed this way?

I like my SJ30 and I love it. The only thing is, I do not like its Hotsync cable (h-cable). It is run through Power adapter cable. I would like to keep power adapter at home (to charge over night). But with this Sony's vague design, I have to carry the power supply and Hotsync cable to office. Preferably, I like to carry only Hotsync cable. The other solution is to buy another h-cable. Can anyone suggest me solution? I know this Q is easy for the Gurus on this board ( sorry I could not get a complicated Q for you ).

I need two hotsync places and one charging palce. I will leave the current Hotsynch +power cable at home. It is too bulky. And I need ONLY HotSync cable at office or on the go.

Please suggest me a good model. I do not need Serial and will need USB HotSync.

    Thanks.

    Alex.

Hope this helps. If not, post again. Here are two choices for a hotsync connection for your office.

Sony designed it this way because they thought it was more economical to package a cable instead of a cradle for a low-end unit in their eyes. The SJ30 is a great PDA for its price though.

No doubt about this... And it's easier to carry also, the point is that the way the little plastic holder is designed, if you want to Hotsync, you need to carry the big charger box with you... it should be the opposite, Be able to carry the USB Hotsync cable WITHOUT the electricity cabling...!!!

You could always use a device known as the MiniSync- it is tiny, and charges the Clie by trickle through USB, as well having a built-in Sync button, which the SJ30 lacks... It is just like a retractable keyring.
