Hot Syncing SJ-20 to Windows NT
I am trying to set up a hot sync station between my Clie SJ-20 and my Windows NT computer at work (version 4.0, service pack 6). I have purchased a serial cable, and following the advice of a cable supplier, downloaded from palm.com "Palm Desktop 4.1". In order to get this software, I had to input that I owned a Palm device (I chose a "515"). The hot sync operation seems to work as far as communicating with the Clie, but it terminates when it can't communicate with Palm Desktop. When I try to open "Palm Desktop" , a dialog box labeled "User" appears and asks for a user name or profile. Any input gives a response "... illegal user name or user name directory could not be created". The Palm Desktop application is then terminated.
Any ideas?
Is there a different version of the Palm Desktop software that should be used?
