Htc customer service sucks htc evo 4g piece of junk
Everyone told me not to buy the HTC Evo 4G, but like an idiot I didn't listen. Well here I am with a 6 month old phone, trying to get it repaired or replaced. I've spent 2 weeks going from Sprint to Best Buy(where the phone was purchased) They couldn't repair it so they gave me the HTC website and Phone number. I called...that was a joke. They say they can repair it but I'll have to pay to ship it to them and wait 2-4 weeks (wihtout a phone) until they ship it back to me. Has anyone else had dealings with HTC? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. What has happened to good Customer Service? Does anyone have any self-respect anymore? They can't and work for a company like HTC. I know I'll never buy another HTC phone.

Re: Htc customer service sucks htc evo 4g piece of junk
Isn't there consumer laws in the US that dictate it's the sellers responsibility [Best buy] to fix OR replace defective products?

On a brand new product? Should be in warranty.
I don't suppose you got insurance with your carrier contract, by any chance? Or maybe sprung for one of those insurance plans from BB even?
In general, the quality of HTC products is quite good. I think you just got unlucky.
I'm no fan of the way carriers control the devices we get but unless there was a really good deal, I would prefer to purchase the phone straight from the carrier. It eliminates the middleman.
Sorry for your difficulties

Re: Htc customer service sucks htc evo 4g piece of junk
I really love my HTC phone, now almost 3 years old, but yes, their technical support is slow-- though that is common with most manufacturer warranty based repair. That's why you usually want coverage from either the carrier or the middle man (Best Buy-- I assume you didn't get the product replacement plan). Frankly, I think Sprint is the one that should be ultimately stepping up here-- it is their phone and their service. Have you gone to a Sprint Store (an actual Sprint Owned store, not a third party kiosk or retailer) and asked them to please help you. Try crying. ;-) (Sorry....)
If you bought it with a credit card, see what consumer protections the credit card offers.Hook's Stories

You didn't tell us what exactly 'broke' on it? In addition to the good suggestions above (warranty, better business bureau, return rights, etc.), I'd add credit card benefits. Some include forms of purchase insurance etc.
Also, has that phone been out 6 months? I thought it was more like 3 months ago?

A little under 4 months, it was released at the beginning of June.
