Smart Phone Sims
Hi All,
this is my first post here. Which of the current phone available can I use with my current pay as you go Sim? I live in the UK and use O2 as my service provider.

Re: Smart Phone Sims
Welcome to Brighthand, batchelork.

Being in the US, I don't have a specific answer for you, but a couple of general guidelines that may help you look for information. The first key is that the phone has to have the right radio frequencies for O2 (I assume 02 is GSM). The second thing to look for is finding out whether 02 has any rules about not being able to use phones they currently offer on contract as PAYG phones. That kind of rule is common in the US, but I'm not sure it is as common in the UK or Europe.
Bottom line: Any phone which has the correct frequencies *can* be used PAYG with 02 as long as other 02 rules don't disqualify it. GSMarena is a good source for checking on the available frequencies on a phone.Hook's Stories
