Best mid-budget smartphone w/ 4g + large touchscreen?

I want to get a phone that:
- has 4g internet
- has a powerful CPU, preferably 4 cores but a fast dual core would be fine (i want to play games on it)
- has a large touchscreen
- GPS would be a plus too, but not necessary

and the reason I say "mid-budget" is because I don't want to be paying ridiculous prices for the latest thing... i'm quite happy to get an older version of a phone, if it has all these features

any thoughts?

You didn't mention what carrier are you using or going to use. That makes a BIG difference on choosing a smartphone.
