    Default Interconnectivity and Linux Mint

Happy news to report. With the Linux distro I had in the past (Lubuntu - admittedly a little light) I had little success in connecting my mobile devices. I now have Linux Mint and can report that I have just downloaded a couple hundred photos plus a few short videos from my Galaxy S with no difficulty whatever.

I was also able to transfer said photos without incident from my Mint laptop to my HP Touchpad. The only fly in the ointment was that the HP will not play the videos, which is no reflection on Linux whatever.

So yet another hurdle has been removed. Going Linux is getting more do-able by the day. It IS possible to avoid the Apple & MS-dominated world.

That's good. I've been seeing many more mentions of Mint, so I guess it's becoming one of the best versions.

I'm only a casual user but it seems to be filling the bill for most uses, outside of specialized software. It's still fiddly to rip and transfer music but otherwise works well and doesn't bog down over time like Windows.

I have recently installed Mint 14, and look forward to playing with it. Unfortunately, I have a Sprint phone on ICS, which means connectivity is crap...

So close to rooting this pig.
