Default Progress Being Made on Firefox for Windows Mobile

A third alpha version of the Firefox web browser for Windows Mobile has been released, improving the performance and fixing bugs.

The Mozilla team has has been hard at work on this app, code-named Fennec. This browser has been designed to work well on a smartphone's relatively small screen. Users will also be able to access their bookmarks and browsing history from the desktop version of Firefox.

What's in Alpha 3?
As mentioned earlier, Firefox Mobile still not even a beta yet, but progress is being made.

According to Brad Lassey, one of the developers, the latest version offers faster start ups and greatly improved performance when panning around on pages.

The earlier versions ran best on the HTC Touch Pro, but Mozilla has added support for Windows Mobile devices with other screen resolutions.

It's Free
Like all versions of the Firefox web browser, the Windows Mobile version is available for free. It can be downloaded from Mozilla's website.

There's also a version for devices running Nokia's Maemo OS that has reached the beta stage. For more information, check out this page.
