Palm TX (and T5!) External Microphones for Sale!
UPDATE: Thank you all for considering my devices, and to those of you who have purchased from me, my eternal gratitude!
I have run out of connectors, and have not been able to locate another source. As of today, July 24, 2008, I am ending my manufacturing run. It's been great, and making friends from all over the world has been a fantastic experience!
For those of you in the TX forum who didn't catch my post in the "For Sale" section of BH, I'm now making and selling clip-on microphones and Female Adapter Cables (3.5mm) for the TX and the T5. Now you can make a Voice Memo, tune your guitar, talk on Articulation VoIP, and record your kids singing their ABC's!
The Female Adapter Cable will enable you to use a lapel mic, or desktop mic for VoIP applications, or dictation.
Here's a pic of my TX running Articulation VoIP:
I test each mic on my own TX, and have tried several designs before settling on one I would buy myself. I'm using PayPal (very easy), $20 plus $6 shipping will cover the entire USA. $20 plus $6-$10 USD for overseas shipping.
Email me for details: markspdaplus [at] yahoo.com
I can send you an mp3 of myself demonstrating what the mic sounds like upon request.

Re: TX Microphones for Sale!
Great! I didn't see your post in the "For Sale" section because I never watch that section.
How much is the shipping cost to Europe (Italy)? Can you post a sound sample?
I would be interested in one if the MobiVoip software will be release as I would use the mic only for this purpose. Do you know anything about MobiVoip rates? And what about the quality of calls to houses' phones?
Anyway, very good work!

Re: TX Microphones for Sale!
<mp plugs in his mic waiting for all of the European BH friends to call>
I have one of WN's mics. Really great so far although I have only used it to record a lecture and I do not have mobivoip's software.
Edit: removed heresay and such

The priest writes a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by. "Hey, Joe, it's me. Can you help me Out" And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, "Are you nuts? Now we're both down here." The friend says, "Yeah, but I've been down here before - and I know the way out."

Interesting. From how many feet were you able to record?

I was a few rows back. I would compare the external mic to the T3 mic that I used to use. I miss the features of the T3 (built in mic -- nice easy outside recording button) but this is add on at least gives me the mic feature.
I looked at like this:
T3: built in mic -- plug in WiFi
TX: built in WiFi -- plug in mic
hmmm, no contest for me!!

WyreNut: You might want to change your initial post with the email address so that the spambots don't harvest it. [at] works well and is comprehensible by eyeballs.
mp: Great comparison!

Egads! Right you are! <WyreNut hastily runs down the hall to the editing department to change his email addy!>
@Alfa (and anyone else): PM me an email address, and I'll send you an mp3 I made of the mic using my normal speaking voice (I did try to post it here, but made it a little too big.)
WyreNut
PS: Thanks to all of you who've placed orders (and your trust) with me!
EDIT: OK, I'm not doing Karaoke on the recording (this time) it's just my normal voice...

Re: TX Microphones for Sale!
So do I just copy the voice memo program from my T3 to make this work?

1. Shipping to Italy was quoted to me around $12 USD for "Priority". Probably would take more than a week to get there, but it would make it. I haven't done a PayPal foreign currency billing yet, but I'm eager to learn! (Would you be using Euros or Lire?).
2. PM me an email addy and I'll send the mp3 of the mic.
3. Articulation sounds great!
I'm hoping as equipment and speed increase, this will become a great tool!

You can if you wish (I imported Voice Memo from my Zire 72, works fine), but I find SoundRec to be superior. Get it here:
SoundRec 1.07
