iPAQ hx2750 review
I just spotted a review of the iPAQ hx2750. http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/iPAQ_hx2750.htm
Looks sweet! Too bad there isn't a forum for it here. Anyone else have this PDA and really like it?

Just got my hx2750 *GREAT*
Well had my hx4700 stolen/lost with no one calling yet with a StuffBak on back. Being a organizer user since day one with Sharp in the mid 80's, I've had to get a replacement fast. Behold the hx2750 in my hands. I've had 2210 and recently 4705 and must say hx2750 is best one so far.
What I like/dislike:
-Biometric (after getting 4700 lost, I now have the 2750 set to biometric even with Hard reset. ONLY I will ever be able to use this PDA)
-Flip cover way better than the 4700 floppy soft cover that falls off numerous times, but doesn't fold to the back. Need to remove or flip the cover and then use as stand.
-Buttons (At first I liked the 4700 touchpad, but after playing games and numerous other apps, I hated the touchpad. 2210 is still the best as for the directional buttons, but 2750 is close.
-Screen. 4700 is best in this department, but I've had more issues with VGA then I ever had before. Also, this 2750 is best looking non VGA I've seen.
-Memory 128/128 cannot beat that yet.
-SPEED. Now here's my opinion. When I got the 4700 to replace the 2210 I was expecting way better speed from 400MHz to 624MHz. Wrong, the 4700 is super slow and totally annoying. 2750 is the fastest I've seen with opening and switching apps, to loading of the simplist thing like icons in program folder.
-Battery life seems very good. played a 33minute video at 100% and went to 97% using CF and PocketTV.
Overall, I think my lesson learn of not misplacing iPAQ again gave me a better iPAQ. I'm happy with it... May The Force Be With You!

Here's an example of how fast/capable this thing is:
I've set the network connection to connect to a 16GB music directory shared from one of my pc's.
PocketPlayer on my 2755 took 14 seconds to qeue up all 2851 OGG, MP3, and WMA tracks on this 16GB share (through my wireless network). I connected the 2755 to AC power and just let it play these songs thru wifi overnight and no crashes or hiccups - it was still playing in the morning.
My old 2215 used to lock up when just trying to get the filenames.

I finally did it! I ordered the hx2755 from hpshopping.com yesterday, Tuesday 1/18/05, FedEx will delivery it tomorrow 1/20/05. I been using the DELL X50v since December and while the VGA screen is nice, it's too slow for normal operation and none of my GPS apps are VGA, it's worthless. I hope the hx2755 will fill the spot like my old h2215.

overall excellent, yet the screen touch is
mushy or maybe just relatively insensitive on mine. i'll wait a week or three before uising carepak. hmm, isn't there some limit now on how many times they'll replace unit?
the extra capacity battery is chubby, and the battery latch flakey. am glad the wifi works so well or i'd have broken the battery latch by now to reset wifi the old school way.

I didn't like the screen. Pixelated and Clear Type looks fuzzy. 320X480 Palms and VGA Pocket PC's have spoiled me.

Display Quality
Another point of view on the display quality of the 2750: outstanding, excellent, brilliant (you get the picture). Short of the VGA screen on the 4705, which was too slow and lacking in memory for my tastes, this is the best display quality I've ever seen on a PDA. If anything, it's a bit too bright sometimes - but always clear, even in fairly bright light.
You may wish to see the review at MobileTechReview, where they refer to the display as "exceptional" and "stunning". See http://www.mobiletechreview.com/iPAQ_hx2750.htm
