I never do hard reset after flashing the 210, maybe I should. I do install the HP 200 improvement service pack.

Strange. I hope I'll get a stable system now.
Do you use the latest 6.5 build? Is very difficult for a newbe to change language of you rom? I want to port it to German.

I use the one I made with Globolas Kitchen. It seems to work pretty good. Only thing I notice is that I left out HPLogo.bmp, so when you click on the help and support shortcut you get an error message that says it is missing. I have one if you want to drop it in your windows file. Other then that, it runs fine for me.

hi.

im new here... been active in overclocking forums mostly but now im discovering new pda mods i can get my hans on. i flashed gpus, routers but since 214 is my first pda i therefore should try to fiddle with this stuff too.

now, i had my 214 (shouldhave got HTC!!!) for some time now but never got to use it much. loaded few apps, synced & everything but its now very sluttery even though i alway disable unnecessary functions - i like to be minimalistic but prefer to have installed only what i use.

after reading whole thread i tried to flash but after 5 SD cards that i could get none of them worked. only one card got me to the flashing app with "NO DOWNLOADED FILE FOUND" message, the rest didnt even launched it - just went straight to reset. i formatted all of them before use with FAT16, default cluster size, full format and tried several rom versions on all of them.

i really don't know whether it is my SD cards (which were all below 2GB) or something i do wrong - well after reading whole thread i think the method is relatively idiot-proof.

any help? maybe someone can recommend cheap 128-256MB 100% working SD card model i can buy on ebay or something.

- THANKS to all involved! this thread really ressurects outdated 214s that HP don't want to support even though they still actively sell them! no more HP for me in future thats for sure

Hey, Sunday;
So unfortunately i'm having notable problems. The device is consistently freezing upon a soft-reset... having to soft reset after trying and having "program unsuccessfully installed" a few times. The freezing i'm noticing is the same i noticed a while back with one of the first new 210 ROMs ever.

So yeah, i would characterize the freezing as UNSTABLE. Otherwise it seems to run well. Honestly, the only reason i switched from dxdy's 6.5 ROM build was that he had removed the fancy finger-friendly start menu, which is a process-heavy YET vital feature for me.

Hopefully it can be resolved. For now i may switch back to dxdy's ROM even though i like how you've tailored the menus, etc... to my finger swipe needs.

Btw, i have a first gen 210, your 6.5 lite installed, and this was the order of events for three separate occasions and three separate re-flashes:
-installed touchpal, then i reset it
-installed about 3 xda apps, then reset it
-installed two games and the honeycomb start menu app (xda), then reset
-sticks in boot screen
-soft reset MAY either do nothing OR boot up but then freeze at a Mortscript message

Hope this can help people to eliminate any doubts or whatever. Thanks, Sunday for the sweet ROM and hopefully we can somehow resolve this. Perhaps you may even need to just recook the same thing over since maybe the kitchen produced some bad blocks randomly, who knows.

K peace!

Dave

To Morbid:

One of the simplest problems i noticed was this... if you just pull out the SD from your PC without "ejecting" first, then it will most likely not work correctly.

Second, which bldng.nbo (<-----or whatever, i forget the file name) did you use and when did you download it onto your computer? Perhaps a re-download is in order.

Third, whose ROMs have you tried, and have they all been named HPImage.bin? Just want to know the specifics of your process. Also, i've got a whatever-brand 512MB SD from an old camera as my flashing card, and it works great. So i can only think after 5 SD's that it's not the cards, but another issue.

Please try to search through this enormous thread for dxdy's version of a ROM, i think he had M6.5, so try to find it and let me know what you come up with. Use it and we'll see where it takes you. Post your results and whatnots. Good luck and welcome!

You guys are correct. I had similar problems. I will pull that image, recook and repost. I have not made changes to the rk, sometimes it just needs to be redone.
Very Sorry

Yes, new lite ROM. What I do is the easy part. Globalus and the other developers do all the really hard work. I am just very familar with HP devices (previous owner of 6315, 5500, 5100, 4700, 4100, and 614c). Anyway, I just want to make sure that credit goes where credit is due, and that is to the guys that you see on the first few pages of this thread!
I do hope this lite version works, if not, I will have to start digging around in the kitchen to see what I am missing.
Thanks for the feedback
