I need basic help
I have skimmed the thread 'TX to iPod Touch' transition randomly and although I suspect somewhere in the 7 pages is what I need, I can't exactly figure it out.
I have Outlook installed as well as the Palm Desktop Manager (TX). I would like to have my Palm Contacts transferred to my iPhone. I believe I have to go through Outlook somehow and would like someone to direct me to that process. I also have some fairly extensive 'Memos' I would like to get installed on my iPhone and would need direction there also. Calendar I don't care about now.
Anyone who can help, thanks. If not, thanks also. I've always had good luck on Brighthand but have never diddled with anything but Palm devices, from the very start.

Re: I need basic help
First, change your TX sync preferences so that contacts and notes are synced to Outlook, rather than the Palm Desktop. Since I assume you've not been using Outlook thus far, you'll want to set it to "Handheld overwrites desktop", at least for the first sync.
Next, sync the TX, which will put the information into Outlook.
Finally, set up iTunes to sync your iPhone with Outlook and sync away.

DTM beat me to it but here is a thread with some links that will help also.
To my knowledge you can not easily transfer Memos to you iPhone/iTouch. You may try to get you Memos into Evernote. If you can do that everything would be a snap from there. Just not sure if you can do that or not.

The latest iPhone/Touch firmware does sync Notes with Outlook.

Re: I need basic help
I had it relatively easy on OS X. Palm Desktop on OS X exports to a variety of formats that can be imported into iCal, address, etc. Thanks to Missing Stynk, my BB gets in cat fights with OS X but my 'touch gets updated wirelessly via Mobile Me whenever I'm in range of wifi. It's a bit awkward because I keep my BB as the master and everything else as slaves. OS X wants to be the master and there isn't even an option to overwrite desktop from my BB. I briefly gave some thought to entourage (outlook for OS X) in the hope that BB would work a bit more seamlessly with it but I decided to forgo any M$-ware on my Mac.

Awesome pic there, DTM. The cartoon head was pretty good, but cuteness always kills!

Re: I need basic help
OK, not to be simplistic I hope, but I changed the contacts conduit to be 'handheld overides desktop' and synced the TX. The contacts appeared in my Outlook, as advertised; however, it appears e-mail addressess and phone numbers were transferred - no home address and the like. Was I expecting too much?

Thanks! But this is just my temporary fall avatar. I'll soon be back to "my" smiling face. But you can always click on that....

No, you weren't. The addresses should be there. Not sure why they didn't show up.

Best to use Palm Desktop 4.1.4 E as 6.X does not support the extra address and phone fields.
Hotsync to Palm Desktop, make copies of the PIM folders and run a full backup on the TX.
Switch the sync to Outlook (in Windows Start menu- Palm-> Conduit Sync-> Sync with Outlook).
Hotsync
Open Outlook and verify all is OK.
Run iTunes, plug iPone in to USB cable, click the Sync button.
Apple has extensive help files online, I am not an iTunes expert but this procedure worked without a hitch for me.
