Re: ROM Center
"why doesn't task manager work?" Good question. Looks like I left out something. Does anyone have a quick answer? Looks like it might be missing from the system/shell file. Could be due to removing quickmenu. I will try to find answer.
Thank-you

And with the USB host, i thought that WASN'T a problem. Am i confused? rigoletto, did you actually hook up a camera or printer with an advanced USB sync cable? I just need to double check.
Thanks, dudes. Long live... uhh... cool....!

P.S. Damien, i haven't seen a THING about WM7 yet. I've done some reading and found they've pushed back the release date once or twice. I really think they want to do some iPhone-crushing, and i suppose they only get one first impression. Also, the new NVIDIA Tegra chips have up to 12MP camera support, it looks like some HTCs are getting up to 512MB RAM, and the Snapdragon CPUs are planning to hit 1.5GHz! So i would think MS wants to wait a bit so they can take full advantage of WM7 by using the best hardware. Neat. I think our iPAQs could handle WM7 with a little speed boost.

Hey, so i'm replying to my own reply. In regards to my battery, i charged it to full on the date of this post (Oct.20), and i am reporting today, 11 days later. My battery is now at critical (!) level, and i've used it for about 5-7 hrs using mostly web browsing and low-to-zero volume.
So everyone knows, i think i have either gkelding's or globulus's WM6.5 (obviously both by globulus) ROM. I have a 1st Gen iPAQ 210, and i do NOT have the "HP critical update" installed. These figures are light years better than my original ROM figures. I have a Panasonic 4GB SDHC and a 2GB Kingston CF as well, always in use.
Now everyone knows. I hope this helps people. Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, and it's been 15 days for me, with occasional browsing via wifi and opera widgets, and my addiction to that Solitaire, and only now am I charging it.

Okay, dumb mistakes, sorry about that. The TaskMgr is not working because..I left the "TaskMgr" folder out. That was the easy one. The mail problem I will have to figure out. Probably something else I left out, or I may need to take out the entire Windows Live folder or...I am not sure. If someone hase an easy answer, let me know. It has been in there before( I just repackaged this ROM several days ago), LOL!! I will work on it and post new ROM. Remember, I am just a short order cook, the genius's behind all of this is Globalbus, Electrownik and everyone else who did all the brainwork!
Thank-you

Hello again,
i checked without card, with sd and with cf - the result is pretty much the same: 3-4% battery loss per hour... live fast die young
When browsing all the forums, i often heard of the same problems; thats why i thought of a driver issue - but now i will try a new battery( the 3650mAh) as i wanted to have bigger one anyway. Maybe i just have a bad battery.. i hope so! I will post the result, if anyone is interested.
Sorry for my complaint about the usb host - this was misunderstanding of my part. i didnīt bought that "advanced synccable", itīs too expensive for 2 plugs and some usb wire..crazy I hope to find someone with little soldering skills to make one for me, i need thos host functionality badly.
Still wondering why HP puts this mini usb there if not for host - bad managment probably..
Then, another question: Is there a rom with all these updates already included? I mean the original driver update by HP, the tools found on xda-dev, and maybe some registry tweaks?
well, good luck to everybody...
cheers

Thank-you

Re: ROM Center
As the WM 6.0 ROM on 1st page of this thread cause flashrom corruption (I mentioned before here) and I need to rely on my PDA I was forced to do restore of raw dump under linux. Now I used raw image that was dumped from PDA without badblock. But It didn't make a difference from my own raw dump. After flash I need to make about 10x cold reboot to let PDA fix badblock errors. And also I need to reformat ipaq file storage by Resco Explorer to fix one badblock in this area. After few hours of messing with it I finally have stable WM 6.0 back as it was in original ROM. I made fill FS test and now it doesn't cause any corruption just display a warning that disk is full. I got some message from Psymon that he knows about this bug and try to trace and fix it but he's very bussy now.

Re: ROM Center
Think I have everything fixed, Task Manager, and Email work fine, I went ahead and put Windows Live in there since it is a little more up tp date!! I added WMarketplace, and I always cook in the Adobe files from original Windows file. Please test and let me know.
Thank-you

Re: ROM Center
Sunday, did you remove the honeycomb menu from your WM6.5, or no? In an effort to make my device more finger-friendly, i was hoping to use a ROM with the Sliding Today screen and the honeycomb start menu. So i wanna know if this ROM has got it installed.
Thanks,
Dave
