Default Tether to iphone 3G?

This is my first post so...Hello all

I've got an iphone 3G with unlimited data plan and bluetooth tethering. I wanted to see if there was a way I could tether it to the n810 tablet.

I know some users might find this redundant but a full keyboard and flash enabled browser really make a difference. The table is my brothers which he is selling... I really like it and told him that If I could find a way to tether it to my iphone then I would buy it from him...

I've searched around but have had no luck, when I pair the tablet to the iphone it just times out...

any ideas?

Thanks!

If memory serves right, don't you have to jailbreak an iPhone in order to enable teathering? Nevertheless, you would just need to run the connectivity wizard on the N810 and that will take care of all the settings for you.

Welcome Andrewe1!!! Glad to have you!

If you are still running the 3.0 software on your iPhone you can tether. Just check out this link and it will walk you through the steps. I know it will work with 3.0. I did this and was able to tether my Macbook with my iPhone. Worked great, but if you have updated to 3.1 or later...I am not sure. 3.1 broke the tethering. Some people have been able to but I was not. They are working on a fix for that though!

Let us know if it works out!

My carrier allows tethering on the iphone by default, I've been able to tether to laptops and even desktops.

However, those steps apply to computers... on the N810 after pairing im not sure where to go or what to modify so the N810 knows that its tethered to an internet phone.

So... any ideas? :P

Thanks for your replies

Tap on the applications Icon, then go to Utilities > Connectivity Wizard. Go through that wizard to pair and put in the settings needed for you to teather (the settings are automatically put in for you). After that, its as simple as selecting the access point (under Utilities > Connections I believe that is; you would also be able to manage that connection by clicking the Bluetooth icon in your system tray).
