Default Boingo Wi-Fi Service Now Available for BlackBerrys

Boingo Wireless is a service that, for a fee, gives users access to a very extensive network of Wi-Fi hotspots. This week, software that BlackBerry users need to access this network was released.

The free Boingo Mobile application automatically notifies users when they are in a Boingo hotspot, and lets users connects to the Boingo network with a click.

"Boingo Mobile is about ease of use and a low-cost, high-speed alternative to cellular data," said Jonathan Mendelson, the company's general manager of mobile and product management. "BlackBerry users can seamlessly switch to a Boingo Wi-Fi connection when they're online using data-intensive applications."

Availability
The new version of this app currently supports the BlackBerry Storm2, BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Curve 8320, and BlackBerry Bold.

There are already versions for other platforms available: Android, iPhone, Symbian Series 60, and Windows Mobile.

About The Service
Boingo Wireless claims to be the world's largest Wi-Fi hotspot provider, offering users access to over 100,000 hotspots worldwide. This includes 500+ airports, 20,000+ hotels, and 25,000+ cafes and restaurants around the globe, including more than 14,000+ McDonalds restaurants and all AT&T hotspots.

The service costs $7.95 per month for mobile devices. Laptop users can get a U.S. unlimited account for or $9.95 per month, or global service for $59 a month.
